Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how theStrata (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted form).
  • Study data: your completed chapters, flashcard reviews, quiz answers, scores, and study activity.
  • Payment information: processed securely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of your purchase but do not store your full card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and log data, used to keep the Service secure and working.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and manage your account and provide the Service;
  • To save your study progress, scores, and quiz results;
  • To process payments and provide access to paid plans;
  • To send you essential account emails (for example, email verification and password resets);
  • To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.

3. Service providers we share data with

We share limited data with trusted providers who help us run the Service, including:

  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • Our hosting and email-delivery providers — to operate the platform and send account emails.

These providers may process data outside Canada. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information, except where we must retain limited records (such as payment records) to meet legal obligations.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit and hashed passwords — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and respond promptly to any issues.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us. You may also update your account details from your settings.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to keep the Service secure. We do not use advertising-tracking cookies.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults preparing for the BC Strata Management Licensing exam and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
